Technical Superintendent - Class 1 Marine Engineer

About the role:

Due to sustained growth and continued success, Propel Marine is seeking experienced Marine Engineers with Class I Certificate of Competency to join our successful team and play a vital role in our expansion. 

The role involves varied and challenging field activities and requires frequent domestic and occasional international travel .

About you:

The right candidate is a career orientated team player with strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Class I Marine Engineer COC
• Minimum 1 year sailing experience in the rank of Chief Engineer
• Experience in Marine Surveys / Class Surveys advantageous
• Sound knowledge of local rules, regulations and terminal operations.
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Ability to pass pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
• Good English

Job Activities:

Marine solutions and surveys including but not limited to the following:

• Vessel vetting
• Technical repairs and consultancy
• Hold inspections
• Attendance during Vessel Repairs / trouble shooting
• Draft surveys
• Cargo Trimming
• Tanker quantity surveys and sampling
• On hire / Off hire bunker and condition surveys
• Flag State Inspections
• Quality surveys
• Container damage surveys
• Cargo sampling
